Construction noise field trial 2006

Abstract

Measurements were made at an open cast mine of stationary plant, drive-by events, and at various distances. The investigation concerns the accuracy of sound power levels of large machines as determined from sound pressure level measurements taken according to the established measurement procedure. The results indicate that the single SLM method at 10m is a reasonably accurate and reliable method for the characterisation of plant sound power on-site for both stationary and dynamic activities.
