Abstract

The North of England Robotics Innovation Centre (NERIC) is an Enterprise-focused facility of the University of Salford aimed at assisting businesses with the adoption of robotics and automation solutions. Here, John Kelly (Technician Manager) will give an overview of the team and facilities, as well as provide some insights into the manner of projects undertaken by NERIC.

Biography

John Robert Kelly has been the Technician Manager in NERIC for over two years. He has worked as a scientist, researcher, manager and technician in many categories of laboratory, from commercial Q.C. and industrial wetlabs, to DHSC-operated clinical labs, molecular biology and translational medicine teaching/ research labs and latterly, robotics and automation. The wide array of skills recruited for each of these roles and the flexibility to adapt effectively to the needs of each has stood him in good stead in NERIC, as part of a team assisting daily with a plethora of different businesses and projects.
