Richard’s work explores the strategies adopted by infectious agents, at the individual and population level, to persist in nature – focusing in particular on arthropod-transmitted microorganisms of public health and veterinary importance, including Bartonella and Anaplasma. Richard is part of a long-standing collaborative network including scientists at the Universities of Aberdeen, Liverpool and Nottingham, exploring the population dynamics of parasites in wild field vole populations.
