Dr Natalie Ferry
Natalie’s research focuses on identifying plant cell wall degrading enzymes from under-studied environments, genetically modified crops and plant peptides, in the context of agricultural biotechnology. By screening environments such as invertebrate gut microbiota, she is working to discover plant cell wall degrading enzymes that could be used to create second generation biofuels. Natalie’s research group uses metagenomics, cloning, bio-nanotechnology and proteomics approaches.
