Spinning Stories

The initial focus of the Salford GLAM Lab revolves around work on decolonising museum collections with on museums and galleries in Bolton, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford and Tameside. This project refers to similar work conducted elsewhere, with the aim of developing a broader regional network that can communicate freely within the sector nationally and internationally. The Greater Manchester museums working with the Salford GLAM Lab seek engagement with decolonization efforts in the broader heritage sector, and actively seek ways to connect with other organizations and institutions whose histories and collections overlap with their own.
