Dr Berna Sayan

Cell Biologist

I am a cell biologist with over 20 years of research experience. Currently, I am working at the School of Science, Engineering and Environment at the University of Salford, Manchester, United Kingdom.

Before joining University of Salford, I worked as a fellow at Medical Research Council (MRC), research associate at the University of Southampton and as a lecturer at the University of Manchester. I published over 30 peer-reviewed highly cited articles in prestigious international journals (>2054 citations).

My research focuses on the regulation of key signalling pathways that control cell fate in normal physiology and are altered in disease. My previous work has led to the discovery of several novel signalling pathways that control the activity of several key transcription factors in cancer.
