June 2020 – A full evaluation of the GM Synergy Model has been undertaken, the findings from this have prompted a refresh of the model to focus upon coaching for all. There will be a re-launch of our newly titled GM Synergy Coaching Model over the next few weeks though the core principles of the model remain unchanged
The GM Synergy Coaching Model is practice placement model bespoke to Greater Manchester developed by NHS Trusts in partnership with The University of Salford, The University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan University and The University of Bolton. Adapted from the University of East Anglia’s CLiP™ model (Collaborative learning in Practice), it is based upon coaching ideologies with a strong emphasis on patient centered care, clinical leadership and peer learning to improve students experience and learning in practice.
Using coaching to enhance the confidence, competence and performance of students, the GM Synergy Coaching Model ensures that learning is student led with students taking responsibility in identifying their goals and objectives and working with the ‘coach’ offering guidance and critical challenge
