No Second Night Out: Derby City & Derbyshire

An evaluation for Riverside English Churches Housing Group

No Second Night Out Derby City and Derbyshire (NSNO DD) was set up in March 2013 as part of a nationwide response to the Coalition Government’s Strategy to end rough sleeping. In May 2014, Riverside English Churches and Housing Group (ECHG) commissioned the Sustainable Housing & Urban Studies Unit (SHUSU) at the University of Salford to carry out a rapid evaluation of NSNO DD. The evaluation was undertaken by reviewing the following data sources:

  • Existing secondary data relating to NSNO DD;
  • Interviews with seven key stakeholders;
  • Interviews with four NSNO DD reppresentatives; and
  • Interviews with fourteen service users.

The fieldwork took place between May and August 2014. The overall research was funded by the Department for Communities and Local Government and administered by Homeless Link. The project completed in 2014.

Principal Investigators and Co-investigators: Danielle Butler, Lisa Scullion and Philip Brown.
