What are the experiences and perceptions of breathlessness in COPD patients?

Categories:

People with COPD often experience breathlessness. This is due to the swelling and narrowing of the airways, making it harder to move air in and out. The aim of this study is to interview people with COPD to gain insight into what it feels like to live with breathlessness. As this will help improve our knowledge and help shape future treatments for COPD, which could be offered on the NHS.

After taking part in the study, you will be entered into a £50 prize draw. The winner will be selected once the final interview has been completed. If you do not want to be entered into the prize draw, please let the researcher know.

This study could be for you if you have COPD and experience breathlessness. If you are interested in taking part, please read the participant information sheet. After reading this sheet, if you are still interested then follow this link to our online form. This form will ask you more questions about you and your condition which the researcher will use to understand if you would be suitable. All information provided through the form is treated strictly confidential and you will hear back within 1 week from the researcher.

Please follow this link to the online form. If you would prefer to speak to the researcher instead of completing the online form, then please ring (TO ADD NUMBER) or email them at j.greenwood17@edu.salford.ac.uk explaining that you would like someone to ring you back about the COPD study.

This study will close recruitment in July 2026
