I began studying psychology during my training to be a qualified therapeutic counsellor back in 2009. Soon after attaining my Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, I practised as an integrative psychotherapist while concurrently completing a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and Counselling at the University of Salford. In return for my hard work, I was awarded a 1st class degree and I received the 2015, award for “Best final year student in Psychology and Counselling”. The following year I achieved distinction on my MSc in Applied Psychology (Therapies) programme and I was awarded the 2016, “Best MSc Applied Psychology student”. These achievements in academia led me to becoming a successful PhD candidate and a Lecturer in Developmental Psychology.
My research interests include:
- Psychological intervention development and evaluation
- Metal health disorders and evidence-based treatments
- Autism spectrum disorder
- Social and emotional competencies
