The Arts for the Blues team have presented their work in Riga, Latvia at the 7th European Dramatherapy Conference, also the 2nd International Dramatherapy Conference on the 2 and 3 May. The theme of the conference this year was ‘Human and Nature in Dramatherapy’.

This was an incredibly well-attended and diverse conference with around 250 delegates from nearly thirty countries sharing their perspectives on this vibrant profession.

Arts for the Blues’ offer was entitled ‘Creative Psychotherapy for Depression (Arts for the Blues) – Our Evidence Base and an Experiential Workshop’. During the session, Scott Thurston, Joanna Omylinska-Thurston and Vicky Karkou presented the Arts for the Blues model and Claire Quigley delivered a beautifully judged rendering of the component parts of the model as an integrated, creative workshop experience. We had forty attendees and an overwhelmingly positive response to the material.

Please see below for a few pictures of the conference courtesy of Andrea-May Oliver and the organisers. We hope to participate in the next conference in Italy in two years’ time!
