We offer a supportive and collaborative research environment, access to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salford.ac.uk\/our-facilities\/joule-physics-laboratories\">modern facilities<\/a>, and opportunities to work alongside experienced academics. Our team is committed to nurturing talent and helping students develop the skills and knowledge needed for successful research careers in academia and industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Available courses<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We offer the following postgraduate research degrees:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)<\/em>\u00a03 years full time \/ 5 years part time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Master of Research (M.Res.) and Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.)<\/em>\u00a01 year full time \/ 2 years part time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can find more details on these courses on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salford.ac.uk\/courses\/postgraduate-researchdoctorate\/physics-postgraduate-research\">course page<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to apply<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We encourage applicants to contact us before applying. Please send a brief description of your research interests along with your CV to our Head of Research: M.Leontiadou@salford.ac.uk. We will then connect you with staff members who can supervise your project. In addition to our core research areas, we also support co-supervision with colleagues in engineering, chemistry, acoustics, and health and life sciences where appropriate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fees and funding<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Information on tuition fees at the University of Salford can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salford.ac.uk\/postgraduate-research\/fees\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>. It may also be necessary to pay bench fees, or apply to the university&#8217;s postgraduate research small project fund, to purchase laboratory consumables and equipment for your work.
