Wetlands and Sustainable Drainage
The Wetlands and Sustainable Drainage group is part of the Engineering Research Centre at the School of Computing, Science and Engineering, and is globally known for research output in wetland systems, sustainable drainage, flood control, wastewater treatment and water systems analysis. The group has more than 150 recent and relevant journal publications.
Two books on wetland systems have recently been published with Elsevier and Springer:
- Wetland Systems: Storm Water Management Control (Scholz, pub. Springer, 2011)
- Wetland Systems to Control Urban Runoff (Scholz, pub. Elsevier, 2006)
The development of decision-support tools is one of the key tasks of the group. Novel objective, mathematical and quantitative decision support models are being developed to solve practical design, operation and management problems in urban and rural water engineering and management.
