Civil Engineering
Civil Engineering research in the Engineering Research Centre at the School of Computing, Science & Engineering brings together a wealth of expertise and international reputation in four focused areas:
- The Wetlands and Sustainable Drainage group analyses and models water systems.
- The Structures and Geotechnical Engineering group studies the interface between structures and soils.
- Traffic modelling activities take place in the Transport group.
- The Masonry Arch Structure group analyses and modelling the structural behaviour of masonry arches bridges.
Civil Engineering research is well funded, with support from EPSRC, The Royal Society, UK industry, EU and United Nations. We have not only the highest calibre academics but also first class facilities to support the leading edge research projects for both postgraduate studies and post-doctoral research. Civil Engineering researchers publish papers in high-quality journals and books with leading publishers.
