Lecturer in Psychology

Biography

I am delighted to introduce myself as a Lecturer in Psychology at University of Salford. I have previously taught at Manchester Metropolitan University (2017) and University of Salford (2013-2018) across a number of Psychology and Public Health related areas at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. My professional background prior to starting my academic journey (2006-2013) was within the charity and voluntary sector. I have held a number of roles that primarily involved coordinating projects and campaigns on a national and regional basis. These range from mental ill health service evaluation projects to mentoring projects led by young people.

I hold a BSc Psychology, an MSc Community Psychology and a PhD, and I am a Member of the British Psychological Society. My doctoral research explored ageing in the workplace. This looked at health and wellbeing from a number of psychological and public health perspectives. I have a broad range of research interests, but the main topics I am interested in are anything related to Community, Health & Social Psychology.

Teaching

Module leadership for Introduction to Biological and Cognitive Psychology, Introduction to Individual Differences, Psychology in Contemporary Contexts.

I am also involved in teaching Social Psychology, Global Psychology, Psychology and Health and Psychology of Children in Need.

Research Interests

Older Workers and Extended Working Life, Gendered Context to Ageing and Health, Health Inequalities, Community Psychology, Workplace Health Promotion.
