He has developed novel bacterial culture protocols to study biofilm formation and microbial interactions in complex environments, with the aim of increasing antimicrobial effectiveness and combating resistance. Joe is also involved in communicating the science behind AMR to the public, running workshops at festivals and working to enhance AMR research capacity in Malawi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Current projects<\/span><br><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/hub.salford.ac.uk\/microbihome\/\" target=\"_blank\">MICROBIhOME<\/a> &#8211; mixed media installations exploring the human microbiome.<br><em>with <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/hub.salford.ac.uk\/salford-antibiotics-research-network\/cjames\/\" target=\"_blank\">Chloe James<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/hub.salford.ac.uk\/salford-antibiotics-research-network\/igoodhead\" target=\"_blank\">Ian Goodhead<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/hub.salford.ac.uk\/salford-antibiotics-research-network\/swithers\/\">Sarah Withers<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/hub.salford.ac.uk\/salford-antibiotics-research-network\/2020\/04\/25\/antimicrobial-surfaces\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Infection control via chemical vapour deposition<\/a>: exploring the use of antimicrobial coatings for surfaces that usually spread bacterial diseases, such as door plates.
