The Director of the Unit is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcl.ac.uk\/people\/annette-boaz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Professor Annette Boaz<\/a> at King\u2019s College London. Other partners include the Institute for Fiscal Studies and the London School of Economics.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The unit exists to develop research knowledge in the health and social care workforce field and to disseminate findings to policymakers, service providers, employers, and patient, service user and carer groups.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>HSCWRU is an NIHR Policy Research Unit. Core funded by the NIHR\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcl.ac.uk\/hscwru\/research\/nihr-policy-research-programme-studies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Policy Research Programme<\/a> (PRP), we also receive grants following competitive tender from a variety of other funders. We are affiliated with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcl.ac.uk\/research\/nihr-arc-south-london-social-care-theme\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NIHR Applied Research Collaboration South London<\/a> (leading its social care theme) and we work closely with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcl.ac.uk\/hscwru\/research\/nihr-sscr-studies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NIHR School for Social Care Research<\/a>. The current NIHR Policy Research Programme award runs for five years (2024-28) and the Unit announced its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcl.ac.uk\/news\/the-nihr-policy-research-unit-in-health-and-social-care-workforce-programme-of-work\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">programme of work in March 2024<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As well as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcl.ac.uk\/hscwru\/research\/publications.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">publishing widely in the academic press<\/a>, the Unit is the base for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcl.ac.uk\/hscwru\/research\/mrc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Making Research Count London<\/a>, a subscription service which engages directly with the practitioner community. In addition, the Unit runs <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcl.ac.uk\/hscwru\/events\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a broad range of events<\/a> which are open to all. We also disseminate via <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hscwru\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">X<\/a> (formerly Twitter), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/nihr-policy-research-unit-in-health-and-social-care-workforce\/?viewAsMember=true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LinkedIn<\/a>, and our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UC-QoXzjLBNtXKL_W9aVWuow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">YouTube channel<\/a>.
