This pioneering initiative centres around individuals who find themselves working beneath their full potential or personal preferences concerning hours, wages, and skill utilisation. Using mixed methods approach, the study aims to monitor the levels of underemployment within the United Kingdom and across Europe. It will examine the demographics of the underemployed workforce, identify the factors that predict and result from underemployment, and provide valuable insights into the real-life experiences of underemployed individuals residing in four major cities in the UK, including Salford.
