Children with a parent in prison with whom they have ‘no’ or ‘limited’ contact
The importance of family contact during custody is acknowledged in research and policy. However, it is estimated that half of children with a parent in prison do not have contact during their parents’ sentence, with others having limited contact. This project aims to specifically explore the unique experiences and support needs of children with a parent in prison with whom they have ‘no’ or ‘limited’. By centring the missing perspectives of children with a parent in prison, the findings from this study will inform/influence policy and practice.
