Currently, clinicians involved in prosthetic provision and care lack an objective method to measure patients’ real-world prosthetic usage. This limitation hinders their understanding of patients’ daily lives and affects the reporting of outcomes following prosthetic prescriptions. Harnessing this information could greatly benefit clinical decision-making, user feedback, research, and manufacturers’ understanding of device usage in real-world settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have three interrelated projects designed to address these needs. The first focuses on determining the information most useful to clinicians, the second on detecting real-world walking on uneven terrain, and the third on evaluating a measure of participation. These projects will be integrated and contribute to predicting and monitoring health changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
