Caelan Scott: Co-designing and delivering a package to support the global use of plantar pressure in referral and determining effectiveness of orthotics for the diabetic foot.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Industry funded PhD project with XSENSOR pressure insole company within the Centre for Doctoral Training in Prosthetics and Orthotics. Abdulaziz Alkanderi: The role of footwear for amputees with lower limb prosthetics.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Explore, through mixed-methods, the fit for purpose of footwear for people with lower limb amputations across different environments and cultures. Supervisory team:<\/strong> Dr Carina Price<\/a> and Prof Rich Jones<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hayley Edginton: Enhanced assessment of the high risk foot: Ultrasound assessment for objective measurement of change in high-risk foot.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This work will identify the clinical needs and requirements of an enhanced assessment and develop and evaluate training requirements for Podiatrists to deliver this assessment. Supervisory team:<\/strong> Dr Dan Parker<\/a> and Dr Veronica Newton<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Max Lewin<\/a>: Real world measurement of lower limb biomechanics and their relationship to foot orthotic comfort.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The work for this PhD by publication comes from a KTP project with Scholl\u2019s Wellness Company. This project aimed to identify real-world methods for measurement of lower limb biomechanics for collection of data relevant to orthotic design and testing. The published works include a systematic review to identify key biomechanics variables related to orthotic comfort, validation and sensitivity testing of a real-world measurement system, development of a comfort prediction method, and identifying underlying differences in biomechanics alongside meaningful changes in comfort. \u00a0Supervisory Team :\u00a0<\/strong>Dr Carina Price<\/a> and Dr Richard Jones<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
