Sustainable Prosthetics: Cambodia’s Path Forward
Sisary Kheng is the Country Director of Exceed Cambodia and has been actively involved in the development of sustainable prosthetic services in Cambodia. Exceed Cambodia is an international NGO that focuses on providing prosthetic services to victims of conflict. Additionally, Exceed worked with other NGO partners to establish the Cambodian School of Prosthetics and Orthotics, which produces internationally accredited Prosthetist and Orthotists. However, funding constraints hindered the ongoing development of the profession and national services. Sisary’s initial research included engagement with Ministries, NGOs, and other high-level contacts to explore the application of the Social Enterprise model as a means of securing sustainable services into the future. Her work has been highly significant in recent developments at Government level to develop joint strategies for financing prosthetic services in Cambodia.
