WORKWELL Digital
Paid employment has an important role in daily life, and it does not only provide income but also a route to social inclusion and support. There is evidence to support that people living with arthritis struggle to meet their day-to-day work demands due to symptoms such as pain, fatigue and activity limitation, and at higher risk of job loss compared to general population. Despite this, work difficulties in this population are overlooked and access to tailored work rehabilitation remains limited.
Funded by Versus Arthritis WORKWELL job retention programme was developed and tested by vocational rehabilitation experts, researchers, clinicians and patient and public involvement. Following a randomised clinical trial across 17 NHS Trusts in the UK, the programme was digitised with the help of digital learning design experts to increase online access to work self-assessment to provide tailored solutions. Freely accessible, this online platform aims to help people with arthritis to lead happier and fulfilled lives by managing arthritis at work better.
