A Study of Sexual Health and Well-being in Men with Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Diseases (RMD) in Italy, Turkey, and the UK
We envision healthcare services in which men living with rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMDs) are supported to engage in open, informed discussions about their sexual health and well-being. Hence, this pioneering research, spanning Italy, Turkey, and the UK, explores the often-overlooked impact of RMD on men’s sexual lives using online web-based surveys across countries.
The study will uncover hidden gaps in existing literature, reveal patterns of sexual dysfunction and shed light on how RMD affects men’s sexual health and well-being. It will also break down barriers to communication between patients and healthcare professionals. With patient and public partners from each country actively involved, the research is set to be relevant and comprehensive. Their insights will shape the study and bring depth to the data interpretation.
The evidence of this research will equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge to address sexual health in their assessments and treatment plans. This research aims to advance patient care by generating
evidence that may inform improved clinical outcomes and contribute to the development of future guidelines for managing sexual health in men with RMDs.
