Helen Carruthers
My research interests focus on improving the patient experience of rehabilitation within Critical Care. I have been involved in systematic reviews investigating the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication strategies for voiceless patients in Critical Care and a meta-ethnography exploring the patient experience of mechanical ventilation. My current projects aim to explore person-centred physiotherapy from both the perspectives of physiotherapists and service users. I have experience completing quantitative systematic reviews and a qualitative meta-ethnography. My current project will use interpretative phenomenological analysis to explore person-centred physiotherapy in Critical Care.
