Evaluation of Camden Early Help Family Group Conference Service
This project is focused on evaluating the impact of the Early Help Family Group Conference (FGC) Service in Camden and exploring outcomes for families who have had a FGC. The project involves a documentary analysis of family plans alongside interviews with family members. Professionals who deliver the FGC service and social workers who have referred to the service are also being interviewed. Existing quantitative data held by Camden Borough Council, such as demographic information, reason for referral and outcome of FGC is also informing the research.
Whilst there is a large and growing evidence base for the efficacy of FGCs in children and families social work, there is little research on the application of FGCs at the Early Help stage of the safeguarding process. Indeed, Camden Borough Council are one of few services offering FGCs at this level.
The project is due to end in April 2021.
