Migration and Intregration
This is a major area of research for SHUSU and one that has global significance. Our work to date has looked at the experiences of specific groups of migrants including asylum seekers, refugees, migrant workers, third country nationals and EU migrants. Our focus has been on examining the approaches adopted within local areas to manage migration and integration initiatives. Our future activity will continue to build on this portfolio of work, but will also explore the intersections between migration and integration such as:
- Health and wellbeing
- Social work
- Community-based initiatives
- Digitally enhanced integration
Our work in this area is grounded in strong relationships with local authorities and voluntary and community organisations. We have an international outlook and seek to develop new ways of transferring knowledge and practice between partners across the Global North and Global South.
