Gender and Sexuality

Expertise in this theme relates to the sex industry, critical ‘modern slavery’ studies, women in the criminal justice system, motherhood, digital gender and sexuality, the gendered nature of violence, gender, social class and crime, gender and drugs, gender and poverty and gender and employment. Our work in this area is grounded in strong relationships with industry partners, which include: Public Health England, the BBC, the NHS, the Big Issue North, Criminal Justice Partners, and voluntary sector organisations such as the LGBT Foundation, Basis Sex Work Project and women’s support centres.
