Delirium is increasingly recognised as a problem in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The diagnosis of pediatric delirium is challenging however, because of overlapping symptoms with other conditions. Valid screening tools have been developed and are described as reliable and relatively easy to use. We have compared PICU nurses’ ability and confidence in scoring items from two of the validated tools: the SOS-PD and the CAPD in a single PICU.

Chief Investigator: Dr Nayan Shetty (Alder Hey Children’s NHS FT), co -investigators: Dr Tomasz Nabialek (AHCH) and Dr Lyvonne Tume (University of Salford).
