{"id":2117,"date":"2021-05-11T08:45:11","date_gmt":"2021-05-11T07:45:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hub.salford.ac.uk\/fasd\/?page_id=2117"},"modified":"2026-02-25T11:34:56","modified_gmt":"2026-02-25T11:34:56","slug":"awareness","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hub.salford.ac.uk\/fasd\/projects\/awareness\/","title":{"rendered":"Awareness of FASD"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Awareness campaigns in Greater Manchester<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We helped the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership in putting together a bid for \u00a31.8m to reduce alcohol exposed pregnancies in Greater Manchester region. This project has led to a number of initiatives in raising awareness across the community as well as support for those affected by FASD, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>FASD training for midwives and other professionals&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alcohol screening at antenatal appointments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A public health information campaign called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.drymester.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Drymester<\/a> (#drymester)&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A theatre production aimed at high schoolers called Birthday, which included workshops and resources for schools<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increased access to long acting reversible contraception and help with reducing alcohol use in women at risk of an alcohol exposed pregnancy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We are currently involved in the evaluation of this project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Check out the Birthday Trailer<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"&#039;Birthday&#039; Trailer\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/SAhtDYA6UNs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Awareness campaigns in Greater Manchester We helped the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership in putting together a bid for \u00a31.8m to reduce alcohol exposed pregnancies in Greater Manchester region.
