Embracing Complexity Webinar: Trauma and neurodevelopmental conditions
May 26, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm BST
People with neurodevelopmental conditions (NDCs) are more likely to face adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). For some, the effects of trauma can complicate or overshadow neurodiverse traits, making it harder to get a diagnosis and the right support.
In the first Embracing Complexity webinar, co-hosted by the ACE Centre at University of Glasgow, researchers, charities and experts by experience discuss the links between trauma and neurodevelopment.
The panel includes:
- Professor Helen Minnis, Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, University of Glasgow
- Dr Jason Lang, Honorary Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Registrar, University of Glasgow
- Dr Tony Lloyd, CEO, ADHD Foundation
- Dr Alan Price, Research Fellow focusing on FASD and trauma, University of Salford
You can register here for access to the webinar on Zoom. Alternatively, the webinar will also be livestreamed on our Facebook page.
HOW TO JOIN: When you register, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from Eventbrite with a link to the event page. This page includes the link to the Zoom session.
Embracing Complexity is a coalition of over 60 organisations working towards a world where everyone with neurodevelopmental conditions can achieve their potential. It is led by Autistica, the UK’s autism research charity, who are hosting this webinar.
