Here is a summary on some key objectives of the first year of the project. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/hub.salford.ac.uk\/cyp-inpatient-mental-health-services-research\/the-external-advisory-panel\/\">external advisory panel<\/a>&#8216;s input into the research<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A wide range of professionals, service users, providers and commissioners and other experts in the field of children and young people\u2019s mental health services have signed up to be part of the research\u2019s external advisory panel. The panel provides independent expert guidance to support the project&#8217;s research and implementation, such as ensuring that research findings are relevant and actionable for policymakers, clinicians, and service users. The terms of reference set out the role, responsibilities, and operational framework of the External Advisory Panel. The panel has met twice so far in its set up, and will be meeting three times a year. Representation of membership is across professions and regions in the UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Our <a href=\"https:\/\/hub.salford.ac.uk\/cyp-inpatient-mental-health-services-research\/about-us\/meet-the-team\/\">industrial PhD student<\/a>\u2019s progress<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Our industrial PhD student, Janine Hunter, has successfully completed her first year of the PhD. Janine completed a comprehensive review of policy relating to children and young people\u2019s mental health services over the last 15 year. Janine\u2019s scoping literature review synthesised research on intensive and inpatient mental health<ins> <\/ins>service provision for children and young people\u2019s mental health. The review has identified gaps in research evidence and knowledge and highlighted the gaps between policy and existing evidence. With the input of the external advisory group, the findings of the scoping review will inform research priorities, and methodology. Janine has attended conferences to share her work to date, including presenting her work at the National CAMHS summit in December 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mapping service provision in preparation for the national survey<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Our research project officer, Dr Isabel Adeyemi, has been amalgamating information to develop a database of services for the national survey.
