Previously he undertook lectureships at University of Swansea (2017-2019), and University of Plymouth (2015-2017). His research focus is on cultural history of the Twentieth Century with specialisms in the Cold War, and encounters between populations. His books include <em>Britain\u2019s Cold War: Culture, Modernity and the Soviet Threat<\/em> (2018) &amp; <em>Cultural Encounters in the Age of Globalism<\/em> (2024).&nbsp;Barnett\u2019s interest in class and the structures created by class in society stems from his interest in cultural history, and the role that class has played in determining people\u2019s life outcomes as well its central role in the international history of the twentieth century. Her research interests lie in the field of 20<sup>th<\/sup>-century art and architecture with a focus on the perceptions and development of architectural space, social housing, and women in 20<sup>th<\/sup>-century architecture.<br>She led the project \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/hub.salford.ac.uk\/modern-salford\/\">The Modern Backdrop<\/a>\u201d funded by the Paul Mellon Centre. Tanja also is a member of the\u00a0Strategic\u00a0Planning Committee of the US-based Society of Architectural Historians (SAH) and of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI) group of the RIBA North West.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Meet the team behind Cultures of Class.
