Salford researchers help translate environmental research into policy in Brazil

Salford researchers Chiara Benvenuto, Naiara Sales, Chrysoula Gkoumpili and Romina Batista were in Belém, Brazil, for a capacity-building workshop in March. The British Council-funded workshop brought together Brazilian and British researchers to discuss how to translate academic research into evidence to build public policy.

The workshop included a seminars by local representatives about the impact of climate change, bringing together researchers, policymakers, partner organizations, and communities affected by climate change.

The meeting aimed to create a platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaborative reflection on how scientific evidence can effectively inform climate‑related public policies a pitch to share findings with a wider audience.
