We are looking for candidates interested in investigating these cognitive abilities&nbsp;and are open to supervising projects&nbsp;investigating how social, emotional, environmental and developmental (including aging) factors can affect individuals&#8217; cognitive abilities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please visit our <a href=\"https:\/\/hub.salford.ac.uk\/appliedcognition\/people\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">People<\/a> page to find out more about the staff members working in this area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For general PhD enquiries please contact Dr Samantha Gregory (<a href=\"mailto:s.e.a.gregory@salford.ac.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">s.e.a.gregory@salford.ac.uk<\/a>)&nbsp;or Dr Robert Bendall (<a href=\"mailto:r.c.a.bendall@salford.ac.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">r.c.a.bendall@salford.ac.uk<\/a>) to find out more or discuss ideas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PhD funding<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A limited number of PhD fellowships will be awarded each year by the University of salford to students who would pay UK fees.&nbsp; Details can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salford.ac.uk\/doctoral-school\/phd-studentships#:~:text=PhD%20Widening%20Participation%20Scholarships&amp;text=For%20entry%20in%20September%202025,may%20change%20in%20future%20years.\">here<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;The application deadline will be the last working day of January each year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are also part of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salford.ac.uk\/school-of-science-engineering-and-environment\/laura-the-leverhulme-trust-aural-diversity-doctoral-research-hub\">The Leverhulme Trust Aural Diversity Doctoral Research Hub<\/a>&nbsp;where there is further opportunity for funded PhDs and MPhils in topics related to cognitive psychology. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;We are happy to discuss fellowship applications from other funding sources and employer or self-financed opportunities.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MSc by Research<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information about the MSc by Research in Psychology opportunities please see: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salford.ac.uk\/courses\/postgraduate-researchdoctorate\/msc-by-research-in-psychology \">https:\/\/www.salford.ac.uk\/courses\/postgraduate-researchdoctorate\/msc-by-research-in-psychology<\/a>.
