Type 2 diabetes is often poorly managed in Sub-Saharan Africa. Many patients develop complications such as diabetic foot ulcers, leading to higher rates of lower limb amputations, and increased mortality. However, with proper care and management diabetic foot is preventable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NEEDS project is evaluating a new self-management educational programme and diabetic foot clinic for adults with type 2 diabetes in Tanzania and Uganda. This can help to reduce the development of diabetic foot complications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
