{"id":2091,"date":"2024-07-17T10:22:40","date_gmt":"2024-07-17T10:22:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hub.salford.ac.uk\/applied-health-research\/?page_id=2091"},"modified":"2024-07-29T13:29:01","modified_gmt":"2024-07-29T13:29:01","slug":"personalised-exercise-rehabilitation-for-people-with-multiple-long-term-conditions","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hub.salford.ac.uk\/applied-health-research\/long-term-conditions\/personalised-exercise-rehabilitation-for-people-with-multiple-long-term-conditions\/","title":{"rendered":"PERFORM (Personalised Exercise-Rehabilitation for People with Multiple Long-Term Conditions (Multimorbidity) Trial"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The PERFORM (Personalised Exercise-Rehabilitation For people with Multiple long-term conditions (multimorbidity)) trial has been awarded funding from the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Programme Grants to co-develop (with patients, caregivers, clinicians, and service commissioners) a bespoke programme of personalised exercise-based rehabilitation for people with multimorbidity and to evaluate its acceptability, clinical effectiveness, and cost-effectiveness of its implementation into the NHS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Research has shown that exercise-based rehabilitation can improve quality of life and reduce the number of hospital visits. Standard NHS rehabilitation can help people with specific illnesses such as heart disease or respiratory problems.
