This project connects diverse communities of women through comedy.  In partnership with The Comedy Trust, the project uses humour to promote and support women\u2019s mental health and wellbeing, and to promote social change for a fairer society, challenging discrimination and social inequalities. The project uses the art of comedy <\/a>to share women\u2019s voices and to give value and visibility to their lived experiences.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In groups of 12, female service users from Manchester Action on Street Health, Mama Health Poverty Partnership, and Back on Track will attend six weeks of comedy workshops run by female practitioners from the Comedy Trust. This will culminate in a coproduced comedy night at the New Adelphi theatre on International Women\u2019s Day, bringing all the women together with an invited audience to perform their work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The experiences of participants and audience members will be captured in a range of ways, including a \u2018diary room\u2019 video, a \u2018graffiti wall\u2019 and questionnaires, which will be evaluated by the team, and result in journal articles, conference presentations, and a video for each of the organisations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
