This project was delivered from 2021 &#8211; 2023, funded by UK government Health &amp; Wellbeing Fund 20-21, aimed to improve health outcomes for children aged 0-2 from minority ethnic groups (MEGs) from areas of deprivation in Greater Manchester. The evaluation analysed family self-assessment scores, &amp; feedback, case studies and focus groups with volunteers and staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Project achieved and exceeded objectives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reaching a larger number of volunteers and families from MEGs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Volunteers better equipped to offer peer support<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improved the coping skills and wellbeing of families during the critical first 2 years<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This model would be a valuable addition for integration into UK Home-Start services, to improve the take up and effective support for MEG families, positively impacting on disparities in care and improving outcomes for disadvantaged families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Funder:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UK Government Health &amp; Wellbeing Fund&nbsp;2020-21<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Salford City Council<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Team:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/salford-repository.worktribe.com\/person\/1161889\/jeanne-lythgoe\">Dr Jeanne Lythgoe<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr Helen Cameron<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Evaluation of the Starting Well Project delivered by Home-Start Manchester (HSM) &amp; Home-Start Trafford, Salford &amp; Wigan (HSTSW).
