Sub-Saharan Immigrant Women’s Experiences of Having Caesarean Section in Finland

This is a qualitative content analysis study with collaboration between University of Salford in the UK and Novia University of Applied Science in Finland. The aim is to explore sub-Saharan immigrant women’s experience of caesarean section in Finland. Recruitment was through purposive sampling, snowballing and investigators’ contacts. In-depth interviews have been conducted to elicit 12 sub-Saharan African women’s experiences. Qualitative content analysis to identify categories and sub-categories is ongoing.
