27th September
The School of Health & Society hosted the first event in the Honorary Professorial Lecture Series for 2023/2024.
In her professorial lecture, Professor Natasha Phillips introduced us to a vision of nursing in the digital age, based on a reimagining of how care is conceived, delivered, and experienced. Contextualising the lecture around global challenges, the opportunities offered by digital healthcare are presented alongside the necessity of preparing and training nurses for a digitally enabled future. It is clear that things are changing at a rapid pace, so the question is, how can technology help and what does this mean for the future of nursing – does it, as Professor Phillips asked, represent a new frontier or is it the death of nursing as we know it?
