PhD researcher Xsara Helmi, funded by the Leverhulme Trust Aural Diversity Research Doc Hub, LAURA), will have her poem To Be Unmade<\/em> featured in Issue #9 of Indelible<\/a><\/em>, the literary and arts journal from the London Arts-Based Research Centre.<\/a> The issue, themed Awakening<\/em>, launches on 11th October in print and digital formats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Helmi integrates poetic writing into her practice to navigate conscious and unconscious processes while engaging with her embodied experience as an autistic woman in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Themes of threshold, surrender, and transformation reflect Jungian individuation- disparate aspects of self, body, psyche, and environment moving toward integration and Rogers\u2019 concept of self-actualisation, as the poem enacts a journey in which the self-unfolds, adapts, reaching toward fullest potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Helmi\u2019s research explores how integrating positionality, affect, and embodied phenomenology contributes to the depth and creative generativity of transdisciplinary arts-based practice, aligned with a\/r\/tography.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
