Emma Barnes (Salford PhD), Hannah Bury (Salford PhD), Natalie Ilsley (Manchester PhD) and Jade Munslow Ong (Salford) have been awarded \u00a34973 AHRC NWCDTP funding for a Research Impact project entitled ‘South African Modernism as Decolonising Methodology for A-Level English Literature’ (Sep 2021-Jun 2022). They will use the funding to\u00a0develop and run a programme of teaching activities aimed at A-Level English Literature students in association with the AHRC Research Grant \u2018South African Modernism 1880-2020\u2019<\/a> (PI: Jade Munslow Ong, Co-I: Andrew van der Vlies, RA: Emma Barnes).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aims of the project are threefold: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 To support and enhance decolonising efforts in the study of English Literature;  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 To assist student learning and preparation for A-Level English Literature assessments; and <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 To extend the reach and impacts of AHRC-funded research <\/p>\n\n\n\n

An associated article by Jade Munslow Ong, titled ‘Decolonising the English Literature A-Level via the South African Ex-centric’ has also been accepted for publication in English <\/em>journal, and will be out at the end of the year.
