We are delighted to report that the general public in Scotland and elsewhere are being asked to choose which three quotes from previous Scots Makars, including Salford’s own Professor Jackie Kay, should feature on the Scottish Parliament’s Canongate Wall to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the building.

Jackie’s work, alongside that of Liz Lochhead and Kathleen Jamie, is presented in the form of two quotations, between which the public will decide which will be featured on a new letter-cut stone on the wall.

To watch a short video of Jackie talking about her poetry and to vote for your favourite quotations by her and the other two poets, see here.

To find out more about the project, see the Scottish Parliament website here.

To see images of the poetry currently on the Canongate Wall see here.
