Dr Ben Short

Ben is a lecturer in Psychology at Salford. He joined the University of Salford in 2011 as a researcher before taking up his current post. Ben studied Psychology at Edinburgh University as an undergraduate and spent some time working in the “real world” before returning to academia. He completed (with distinction) an MRes in the Design and Evaluation of Advanced Interactive Systems at Lancaster University and stayed at Lancaster to gain his PhD in Psychology. Since then he has worked as a researcher on government funded projects examining decision making in complex environments.

Ben contributes to the teaching of Cognitive Psychology at Salford, is the module leader for Introduction to Individual Differences and is currently working with Dr Peter Eachus on the Making Sense project.

Ben’s research interests are higher level cognition and Human Computer Interaction.
