Development in Practice Learning: Key messages from research

An opportunity to consider recent research and work undertaken with student social work workers and practice educators in the placement context. We will look at the sometimes differing perspectives of student and practice educator; the identification and facilitation of support needs for those students struggling with placement; experiences of the assessment process and more broadly consider how this may inform best practice in supporting professional social work placements.

This event will be chaired by Allison Coleman, Senior Lecturer in Social Work at the University of Salford with sessions being presented by Dr Jo Finch, Reader in Social Work; Deputy Director of Centre for Social Work Research at the University of East London; Dr Clare Stone, Senior Lecturer, School of Social Work, Care and Community at the University of Central Lancashire; and, our Practice Learning Team & Students, Directorate of Social Work at the University of Salford.
