Dr Jonathan Hargreaves represented the Acoustics Research Centre at the EAA Joint Symposium on Auralization and Ambisonics┬áin Berlin today, with his presentation entitled ‘An energy interpretation of the Kirchhoff-Helmholtz boundary integral equation and its application to Sound Field synthesis’. This included some new orthogonality relations for spherical harmonic waves, which have potential applications in spatial audio rendering and high-order microphone array design. Jonathan was delighted to hear that the paper had been selected as one of the 10 best in the conference, and will be included in a special issue of Acta Acustica United with Acustica later in the year.
